ViewTIFF for Java
applet for image viewing and document processing

ViewTIFF for Java Features

Annotations. Redact or highlight regions, label with text or draw markings on a document. Annotations can be privately stored on each user's computer or shared by everyone via the server. You choose whether documents can be printed without redactions.

Thumbnails. ViewTIFF beautifully displays mutiple reduced image images on the screen simultaneously for easier browsing.

Special Tools. Want to determine the precise distance on a map image? ThatŐs one example of how ViewTIFF can be customized to meet your needs.

Multiple Formats. You can show a variety of formats in color or Black & White with ViewTIFF including all varieties of TIFF, JPEG, GIF, PNG, PDF images, HPGL-2, BMP, CIT and MODCA.

Fast image control. ViewTIFF for Java has very fast image decompression, scaling, rotation, pan, zoom and printing. Clear controls easily accomplish the task. And you can even configure the controls for your particular application.

Database Integration. Your database screens can pop up images on command. Web integrated databases take advantage of ViewTIFF's comprehensive set of Java and JavaScript interfaces to control the document displayed to the user. Text-terminal databases use JTerm to give you all of the same control!

Access Control. File name encryption lets you control what image is displayed, track who views which documents and restrict who prints documents. Use this for billing purposes, or for compliance with regulations like HIPAA.

Text Search. A user enters a search word and clicks 'Find.' The image of the next matching page is displayed with the word highlighted. This feature requires OCR files and related software at the server. Compatability

True Cross-platform Compatibility. ViewTIFF for Java works with any Java compatible browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Safari, Opera and Netscape) on any platform (Windows, Macintosh, Linux, Unix).

Image enable your text-terminal database

Many large databases are written for use with text-only terminals. Acordex's JTerm Terminal Emulator can interface these databases to ViewTIFF for Java. JTerm is a Java applet that ties your existing text-terminal database screens to document images. Your users continue to use the same database screens they already know and love. Applet to applet communications sends data from your database screen to ViewTIFF for Java. A click of a JTerm button on the bottom of your database screen pulls up the relevant document image!
