Database Integration
Your Acordex imaging solution can include integration with your database. Both
data and images are presented to the user in the browser (e.g. Netscape or IE) window.
Web tools
Current technology database managers include robust web-integration tools. These enable
database-generated html, which provides database access through web browsers.
Acordex offers easy to use controls that drive image retrieval under the control of your database.
Image rerieval is controlled by straight-forward html, JavaScript or Java code.
Mature features like security of the interface have helped customers meet advanced
requirements like HIPAA compliance, billing for access to court decisions,
and combining free viewing with charge for printing public documents.
Data & Image statements
Using simple text files, your database can instruct your Acordex system
to produce statements that "type" data onto electronic forms
and automatically collate document images. Your database can perform jobs like batch printing
copies of documents and rendition billing.
Rendition billing is the printing of billing statements with automatic
insertion of digital images such as Delivery Receipts, Proof of Deliveries, signed invoices, etc.
Fax and email
Acordex's unique electronic Rendition Billing (eRB) gives you the power to create
combined data and image statements, and then decide for each customer whether the statement
is to be printed (and mailed), or sent by fax or by email or by ftp. In all cases,
the look of the document is identical. Your database just passes intructions to
the Acordex image server.
Terminal emulator
Text-terminal database screens, COBOL, RPG and other programs originally written
for text-terminals use Acordex JTerm.
This is a Java terminal emulator that provides buttons to display images without making any
modifications to your database program. To the user, the images
appear to be "in the database."
Regardless of the
approach taken, the end result is minimal or no changes to the databse itself, and seamless
data/image integration for the end user accessing information.
