Double-buffering runs scanners at full speed by scanning the next page at the same time the previous one is being processed.

User Features

Apple event and Apple script support for scanning, viewing and printing images. Control everything from your database application!
Automatic interpretation of numbers at the end of file names as page numbers for scanning, page forward/back, goto page, print page range, save or delete page range. (Documents are stored as sequentially numbered single-page TIFF files.)
Images can be saved in TIFF Group 3, Group4, Uncompressed or Macintosh PICT format.

Click on image title bar to show image location, reveal folder containing image in finder, or drag image to a folder on the desktop.
Multipage TIFF reading, page forward/back, goto page, print page range.
Print command will print the TIFF document scaled to fit the printer page. The page size as defined by the currently selected printer. Printing will take advantage of the full resolution of the TIFF file for best clarity on paper. Printing of multipage documents can be done in one operation and page ranges can be specified in the print dialog.

Hardware Supported

Computer:	Macintosh System X computers with an available USB port. SCSI scanners require an installed SCSI board or a Firewire to SCSI adapter.
Scanner:	DocKeep supports Fujitsu and Panasonic SCSI and USB scanners. The Acordex Supported Scanners list is always changing. Contact us if you have a favorite SCSI or USB scanner that we haven't listed.

A Quick Guide to Using DocKeep

Storage:	Documents are stored as TIFF files in folders. You use Finder to create any cabinet and folder filing scheme you want. Select the directory to scan into from the menu or Apple script
Scanning:	Select brightness, resolution, compression style, orientation, etc. then click to scan from ADF or Flatbed. Enter a document name and a click save. DocKeep will automatically increment a page number at the end of the document name if there is one. Subsequent pages can be saved automatically using the Auto Save feature. To speed scanning the Scan Ahead feature can be used to scan the next page while the current page is being named and saved.
Pan image:	Hold down the control key while clicking and dragging in the image area, or use scroll bars
Zoom to region:	Hold down the shift key while clicking and dragging in the image area to draw a rectangle to enlarge.
Copy region to clipboard:	Hold down the option key while clicking and dragging in the image area to draw a rectangle to copy. Choose "Cut" from the "Edit" menu.
Save region to file:	Hold down the option key while clicking and dragging in the image area to draw a rectangle to copy. Choose "Save Crop" from the image menu.
